In her thesis work, Linda will develop the theory and implement computational codes to describe the rotational motion of complex molecules in strong — non-resonant and resonant — external fields, i.e., provide a theoretical and optimized computational description of alignment and orientation by multiple electric and laser fields. This includes the description of non-symmetric molecules, the inclusion of large amplitude motions in floppy molecules, and the effects of nuclear spins.
